Shortbread bites Halloween style
(for people at work)

Shortbread Bites

1 1/4 Cup Flour

3 T sugar

1/2 Cup Butter

2 T sprinkles (I used black & orange)

Preheat oven to 325 F

Stir together flour and sugar. Cut in butter until resembles fine

crumb and starts to cling. Stir in sprinkles. Form mixture into a ball

and knead until smooth.

On an ungreased cookie sheet roll or pat dough into an 8x5 rectangle.

Cut into 1/2 inches squares. Separate squares on cookie sheet.

Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until bottoms just start to brown. Transfer to wire rack to cool.


Used Stampin' Up! "Haunted Forest" stamp and their 1"x8" Cellophane Bag.
I had to cut the pieces smaller than 1/2" in order to fit them into the bags.

Chicken wings

Just trying out some old stand-bys on the grill.
Yesterday it was chicken wings.
Had some frozen sections, so I dumped some Frank's hot sauce in, shook them up to coat and left them in the fridge overnight to thaw.
Pre-cooked them for 10 minutes in the microwave. Drained them and put them on the grill.
Gas grill, lowest temperature and kept turning till they were nicely colored and crispy.
Served with Olde Cape Cod Buffalo Bleu Cheese dressing from Cains.
Yummy! (can tell because Steve wanted to know when I was going to make them again.)

Ribs!

Tried a new rib recipe.
Brine the baby backs for an hour.
Coat with your favorite dry rub, wrap tightly in plastic & let sit overnight in fridge.
Grill on indirect heat (325-350), turning/rotating every 30 minutes, for 2 hours.
Reduce heat to 250 and continue grilling for 2 more hours (rotating/turning every 30 minutes)
Serve with your favorite sauce & fixings.

These were great even without sauce.
Last time I made ribs there were leftovers. This time all ribs were consumed.
Original slow cooking.
Boy were they good!

Chocolate Cream Pie


Tomorrow is "Pie Hi" day at church.
Jennifer tried this recipe for Chocolate Silk Pie from Taste of Home and said it was good.
The bowl scrapings tasted great today.
Guess we will know tomorrow when they try it at church.

Crust is always a challenge for me.

Filling was nice and smooth.

Topped and in the fridge!

Oh, yes... the leftover crust did not go to waste! It became cinnamon twists.
